SHELTER CONSULTANCY – Since Monday, 6 July 2026, another Vessel Traffic Services (VTS) Operator (VTSO) course has been taking place in Brazil. The Port of Rio Grande (RS), the third Brazilian port to implement this service, is in the final stages of commissioning its VTS and has already begun training its operators with SHELTER Consultancy, supported by AFS Consultants.
The next and final step before the service becomes operational will be the On-the-Job Training (OJT), already scheduled for the end of August. Following this, the Brazilian Navy is expected to carry out the inspection required for certification, paving the way for the formal commencement of VTS operations.
